Fitness: The cornerstone of your physical being

“Take care of your body. It’s the only one you have to live.”

Jim Rohn

Men need to wake up to the fact that they need to invest time and effort into their physical health and well-being. Your body is what will carry you through this life and give you the ability to live a full and rewarding existence. It needs taking care of. It’s the only one you will ever have. It’s also the thing that we as men use to provide for and protect our families and those who we care about.

You need to make your body the instrument that you use to display your character as a man. Like it or not, people form an opinion of you before you even open your mouth. If you appear to be soft, overweight and unfit the bias against you will be that you are lazy, unmotivated and a liability to the team. Men need to start taking this seriously and effect change so they can stand out from the competition and start leading the pack.

Maybe you want to be bigger across the shoulders and have a more defined chest. Maybe you want to be leaner so you can attract a better partner. Or maybe you just want to feel better and wear those jeans you haven’t been able to fit into for a while. If you’re reading this you’ve probably figured out that your physicality within society sets you apart from the other men around you. Unfortunately for most of us, we’re just not born with it. It needs to be earned.

Your quest to improve yourself as a man needs to seriously start with your physical being. At times it will be hard. You will get injuries and it will be inconvenient to exercise. Too bad. Get up and get outside. Even if it is just for a walk because that’s all you can do at this stage due to either fitness, your weight or injury. Just do something because something is better than nothing.

Working at your physical fitness doesn’t mean gym memberships or complicated programs. It also doesn’t have to consist of expensive equipment or new clothes. You already have everything you need to achieve some excellent results. Motivation and gravity will be your weapons of choice as you start your journey on the way to male self improvement.
